Newbie 85 f250 frame off resto (Image Heavy)

Hooker competition headers 6912-HKR
The directions says that it fits 80-95 f150, f250, f350 2wd and 4wd. The front axle came from a 89 f350. The frame from a 85 and 89 is the same, correct? So I don't know how they don't fit.

Hmm...there must be other changes besides the bumper mounts. When I got my leaf springs I got ones for 89 f350, so there isn't many things that could be different there....

in 87 they began using brackets on the bumpers that mount to the side of the frame horns instead of bolting through the fronts like the 80-86 but frames are the same,
they changed drastically horn wise when 92 rolled around with the obs, here is a link showing 87-91 bumper and brackets
towards the bottom is the post with the pic of the brackets

Alright, the gas tank is in, brake lines are done, driveshaft has been POR, primed and top coated, and u joints installed.
I started on the carb and ran into something right away with the Edelbrock intake.
These pics are taken from the pass side.
What is that hole in the top of the intake for? I know I have to remove the bolts and put the block off plate on, but what's the other one?
You can see in the next one that the spacer doesn't cover the hole all the way.
.....and in this one you see the gasket covers the hole, but......it'll still leak air, no?

I think you have the EGR version. Here's what Edelbrock says:
So you need the #8053 4V EGR plate. Or, some way to positively cover that hole.
PERFORMER 351W EGR (idle-5500 rpm)
Designed for street Ford 351-Windsors with EGR. #3781 is stock replacement/street legal part for 351-W 2V V8s; 1972-87 and works with either the OEM 2V carb or an aftermarket EGR 4V carb for off-road by using Edelbrock #8053 4V EGR plate and compatible EGR valve and gasket.
And it looks like this, with the same hole yours has:Designed for street Ford 351-Windsors with EGR. #3781 is stock replacement/street legal part for 351-W 2V V8s; 1972-87 and works with either the OEM 2V carb or an aftermarket EGR 4V carb for off-road by using Edelbrock #8053 4V EGR plate and compatible EGR valve and gasket.

Yeah I know I have the EGR but really didn't know what that meant at the time. I first ordered the non-EGR and when I sat it on the engine it looked like it didn't fit along the sides of the heads, so I sent it back and ordered the EGR only to find out that it fit the same way. I guess that's how it is supposed to fit and I just stuck with the EGR one. Should I have sent it back and got the non EGR one? If I plug all the holes is the performance the same on these two intakes? Part # 8053 is 70$ both intakes were the same amount of $ I think. I don't think I can return it now
"EGR" means what exactly?
