Brake Issue

I have an E-350 15 passenger van. the other day we were stopped with the motor running and the brake pedal dropped to the floor. It worked fine after a little pumping but did it again later. Fluid level is good and no leaks from the master cylinder or the wheels. Is this the right place to seek advise?

Hi RSO, and welcome to FTE. It's fine to ask your question here, but you will probably get more responses if you post it up in the Van forum. Here's a link that will take you there: 1968-2013 Full Size Vans - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

I'm pretty sure the only thing that can cause that is a bad brake master cylinder. It is letting fluid past the piston seal. That won't leak externally, and it will gradually get worse.

Bill's right.

That's a classic case of master cylinder failure. It IS leaking, only internally, past the "cups".

As he said, it will only get worse, so get it fixed ASAP!
