Issues with Red Head boxes or not? A discussion

I don't like the filter idea. If it plugs up you blow a line and are on the side of the road (or steering the truck really hard all the way home).
Same with transmission in line filters. I am just not a fan of all those little in line filters for anything. The only aftermarket filter I would entertain installing would be one of the big screw on filters for the fuel line on the frame rail.

I will update this thread when I hear back from them. I told Harvey I wanted to know a "reason" on the failure. I didn't make threats but told him I wanted to update the info on FTE with the cause of the problem. He got my point.
On the proof of the problem to start with, I don't have a problem with having to prove the play. People lie, and a picture or video is worth a 1000 words, they asked for a video of how much play was in the shaft. To me that doesn't seem unreasonable.
Now do I think they are going to call me next week and admit that someone left a "ball" out and apologize for their goof.....no I don't. I'd be happy with we "opened up the box and it appears to have some kind of internal failure, we can't pinpoint the exact cause but we agree the box is faulty and hope you are satisfied with our customer service, please let us know if you have any further issues with your new box".
Now that being said, if I do have any further issues, or my pump takes a dump again in the near future, I will be back on Harvey's phone and will be much less reasonable. Right now I'm picking my battles...

I put a magnafine on my return line after I installed my used 6.0 cooler. I am just wondering if you have heard of any failures of these inline filters or your just not a fan?

As a matter of fact:

I personally wouldn't want anything in my cooler lines that could block up and stop flow.

I used to run hydraulic filter on my power steering my my jeep. You just have to adapt it down. It didnt get used as much as the excursion but worth looking into.
