I found new dashpads OEM to 80-86s online retailing for about $430/pop. Apparently they are white and need to be died to your interior color

Not as far as I know. I believe the exact price was something like $436 for a pre-molded dash pad in white requiring dying.

There's a thread about the dash pads here. I did quite a bit of research and talked to the various manufacturers and vendors about the pads. Here's a summary:

Dashes Direct: $450 inc shipping directly from them. They are the maker of the only ones on Ford tooling.*Uses a thermoplastic base instead of the ABS base used originall. That makes it less rigid initially but it should be solid when screwed down.*They use the exact same vinyl as the originals, and it has the same grain - Corinthian. That means it will be subject to UV problems like the original, but UV protectants would make a big difference. *Also, Danny said that there were several suppliers to Ford and he's seen some pads that had different grain.*The speaker holes are exactly the way they were originally as the die is the same one.
Available from:
Bronco Graveyard: $335 + shipping.
NPD: $435 + shipping
LMC: Was told on 1/6/13 that they don't have one.

am getting things together to re do the roll/light bar for the uncle for christmas

scored a killer deal on 5 brand new in box stainless kcs so i got them,

just dissassembled the housings today so they can be sandblasted before powder coat

the roll bar goes to get sandblasted this week then is being welded by my cousin.

initially was gonna have it all powdercoated the light gray that is the same as the wheel, but am now thinking to do the roll bar in gray and the light housings in the darker pueter that the center caps are in.

any opinions????

I'd do them all to match the wheels.

I like the two-toned plan you outlined. But you will really have to blast those housings to get some texture for the powder to stick to.
