I guess I can't really say how I would react without actually being in that situaion, but I know it takes an awful lot to get me upset. And when that line is crossed heaven help whoever is in my path! lol, thankfully it doesn't happen very often.

I wouldn't wish what happened to this guy upon anyone.

 

But now he knows he is cared about, that he isn't just some old man, or another random face in the crowd.

 

one of the members of the corvette forum just sent him a $100 giftcard with a simple note saying "your next beer is on me".

 

I think it is great that a bunch of "strangers" on a forum seem to care more about him and his situation then his own 3 children... He mentioned them but said it had been quite a while since he had seen any of them, I'm thinking he said 2008 but I'm not sure now.. And from what I got from his post he may not have even been in touch by phone or mail either, he didn't say that but that is what I sorta read between the lines..

I'll shut up now, but I had to let it out, it has been building up in my feeble mind since I read his post the other night..

 

I'm sure there is a special place reserved for them once they die...

After all he's been through I'm suprised he doesn't have a bottle of whiskey in the other hand.

 

he looks just like my father before he passed, if he was home you would see him just like that. A army hat on his head with a beer in his hand.. heck you could follow his movement around the farm by the beer cans he left behind...

 

That sounds almost like my Dad (RIP), when some one would ask him if he had been drinking today, his stock answer was "Have I got my damn pants on?" Meaning, if he was up and dressed, he was drinkin'!!!!

 

when I started this it was just about righting a wrong, now it becoming more personal for me...
