Pulled HPOP Cover... Whats Going On?

It's either 3C3Z-9T288-AA which is the discharge tube from the HPOP or the branch tube (two part numbers depending on build date). The discharge tube is easy enough. The branch tube requires removal of the transmission to remove. I've never done an early 6.0 so I don't know which part has the black spring loaded connector but I have a bad feeling it is on the branch tube...
Also there is an updated HPOP cover for the early builds. It has a machined groove in the underside to support the discharge tube from movement and breakage like you have.
Lastly, the o-ring on the top of the discharge tube that goes into the cover is actually a "d-ring". If replacing, get the right thing or it will leak. Maybe not at first but I'm sure you don't want to do it again in 10k miles.

Considering the lack of knowledge I have with these engines, it all looks suspect to me. I have read that the later engines had the different hpop type. But like I said this all blows my mind. I'm balling on a budget lol and I'd hate if it were the hpop or its equally expensive counter parts. I just need a bunch more input before I commit to replacing it

Hi 84&04, welcome to FTE!
I'm moving this down to the 6.0L Powerstroke forum, the folks down there will have a better time with this. I know the '05-'07 trucks had a problem with an STC fitting that would fail and leave the truck stranded, and from the description I would guess that's similar to your broken fitting. But I'm far from a 6.0L expert!

FWIW, I have never seen an '03 with a branch tube issue, or a leak at the fitting in the picture. The torn piece is just a cover that has nothing to do with the actual sealing of the fitting. It is a quick disconnect style fitting that would be relatively easy to check. All one would have to do is remove the 2 bolts on top of the pump and see if the fitting is loose. If it doesn't just pull off, a special tool is necessary to release it. IIRC, it should be the same tool that is used to disconnect the fitting at the hp oil rails.

From the stuff I h as been reading I havent seen anything about it. As of now I'm praying for orings.... Sadly I never went the route of diagnostics I got advised that it would be h pop. So I bought a new turbo and icp. And was just going to pop the cover looking for something out of place
