Water Temp gauge install

Im going to use this electric gauge Equus 6262 - Gauge | O'Reilly Auto Parts

can i use the factory temp sensor location to run the temp sensor for this gauge and just leave the old one hanging loose or something>? does the temp sensor affect fuel ratio or anything?

I used a T-fitting in the original location, used the stock sensor and aftermarket so both gauges work. Bit irritating in the stock location, the #5 injector has to come out to clear the fitting.

I don't know what they are, I just took the sender to Lowe's and matched it with the sample fittings. I used a female fitting, along with a male all-thread connector for the T to the intake then another with a female conmector just to keep the senders from interfering with each other. Just gotta piece together what you need, you may not need all of what I used. It will be time consuming though, and take into consideration there is potential for a very big headache if you rush. Leaving the original disconnected and only running your new gauge and sender won't hurt anything, I only got so involved because I can't stand dead gauges in the dash, even if they aren't very useful.
