1955 F100 Hood Hinge Springs

Has anyone replaced the springs on the hood hinges? trying to decide if I should buy new hinges or just the springs. They look easy but...

If you take the hinges off the truck the springs are easy to replace, can be done with just your fingers. They are only under significant tension while on the truck. DON'T wind them up!
