Semi-Truck Tires.

Remember that in the F250-550 lineup which is all essentially the same truck with different axles, the 450 and 550 come stock with 19.5" wheels and matching commercial tires.
The 19.5" commercial tires are available in higher load ranges i.e. stronger and stiffer construction and have considerably longer tread life than the LT tires used on the 250-350. Considering switching to 19.5" commercial wheels/tires is quite reasonable for those that haul heavy regularly in the 250-350.
Some will say just get the 450 or 550, however there are registration and insurance issues that crop up with class 4 and up trucks, so putting 19.5 wheels on a class 3 truck has it's advantages.

Good point, I only use mine for horses or RV so the load is not too much.

My 550's front tires cupped do to needing front shocks(my fault) now I'm afraid the truck will be trash before the tires wear down enough to warrant replacing them. I heard 22.5s and low pros were cheaper in the long run. I'm needing to find something more aggressive since I'm off road a lot of the time. Any suggestions on 19.5s or going to semi tires? The truck weighs in a 15k day to day and 29k with the trailer and trencher.

Seems to be alot of judging but I guess thats the territory. My truck is lifted. I have 35" km2 tires on the stock 17" wheels that look, imo, not very good and the wheels are to narrow. No options for a dually wheel in 17" that are wider than 6.5". I like to have a somewhat aggressive tire as I DD my truck, I like to play in the mud/dirt/hills/snow etc....
I plan to get a set of 22s (probably with 37s) from AF or SCP. I will gain 2" in width with them, they will fit the lift of the truck better and look much better, imo of course.
I wont be uprading to show up the neighbours, look macho or compensate for a small package LOL. I live in oilfield town..someones always got more $$, better toys and a bigger house anyways!

I had Rickson's and 19.5 on my F250. I was towing a 17,000 lb trailer and getting pushed around on stock 16s. It worked, the ride was a little hard but the tires gave me a lot more control. The first thing I noticed was the costs, they were pricey even with steel wheels. But if you are towing or hauling up near or over your GVWR the 19.5s will help a lot. In the end though I decided to buy a DRW. It's just a lot more stable platform. I put the Ricksons on craigs and got about 80% of new for them.
