If I understood correctly, the TS's work with NO lights on. If they were fed off the parking lights, that wouldn't be possible.

i am really confused now , they work with the lights off , so that would tell me they dont come off the switch ??? they do have a 2 filament bulb , i had a 58 that was that way when you turn the lights on the parking went off ,, i know a little different ,, i need to find a wiring diagram to start to trace ,, but you say they should work with lights on or off right

thanks guys

Right you are. It's stated clearly right there on page 1, middle of page. I missed it, got stuck on "they work when the parking lights are on." Ground problem, anyone?

I stand corrected!

Does your truck have add-on TS's or factory? I can't tell what year your truck is (not in signature either, hint hint)

About all you can do is trace all the wires, try running a grounding wire temporarily.

Isnt it supposed to feed off of a point on the HL switch that is always hot as long as the key is on, then go thru flasher and on to the bulbs. EDIT just thinking out loud.

The diagram Jim posted (posted again below) only shows the turn signal/brake light side of the bulbs. This would be in addition to either of the other two diagrams, which only show the parking/brake lights.

The only wire this diagram has in common with the other two is the #18 gauge GREEN wire to the brake light switch.

The "Pilot" bulbs are the bulbs in the dash showing the signals on.

No. The turn signals feed from the "Accessory" terminal on the key switch.

Edit: on second thought, if there is a point on the light switch that runs from the "Accessory" terminal, the signals could connect there. Mine ran straight from the key switch.

You are exactly right, and it seems that at this point I am brain fried, and will gracefully bow out of this thread, and get some much needed sleep. Im sorry for the confusion.

I'm with you Jimmy. My turn signals work without the key on, without the lights on, with the lights on. But mine is aftermarket and a '51, so there are probably differences.

I'm out of here.

I do have a fuse like the pic that jimmy posted, ,, that being said. where do i need to start to check things, , so i am guessing the TS sould work no matter as long as the key is on right? and waht about the hazard lights they sould work even with the key off right?

Thanks

Do you have factory or aftermarket turn signals?

Can you post a picture of it? Is it integrated into the steering column, are attached to the column with a hose clamp-like thing?
