Periods and commas would help go a long way in trying to understand your sentences. Other than that, welcome to the forum. There are some very knowledgeable and helpful guys on here.

Thanks Mike! I just like to only read once to understand, not three times.

You can't say "comma" or "period"? Must be an iphone... haha. Not trying to sound like a jerk. I didn't know I could dictate punctuation on my phone for a while.

Are you asking if you have to take the exhaust manifold off to install an EGT probe?
Then the answer is no.

Are you asking if the EGT probe needs to be "taken off of the exhaust manifold"??
Then the answer is yes!

When installing an EGT probe you want it as close to the exhaust ports as possible to get the most accurate reading. So drilling and tapping the exhaust manifold is the best method.
You do NOT want to install the probe post turbo as your readings can be off and you can be hurting your engine and not realizing it.

You'll be drilling from the bottom so 95% if the shavings will fall out. The rest will just blow through the turbin housing with out doing any harm.

Once you get close to going fully through you can start the truck and it will blow them out.

But Mike is right.
