Should this help or hurt MPG? I'm looking at the RiffRaff wheel when I rebuild my turbo so any feedback would be GREAT

Van Turbo with a WW=0psi at 75mph.
Have you towed with it yet? Mine is DEFINITELY NOT quieter than my WW. Hook up to something, get it OD and above 8psi and let us know what the noise level is..I.have a thread with videos showing the loud whistle.

I cant see that it will help much. I have not done the math on my Mpgs since installing mine but even if I did gain I would say it was fixing the boost leaks not the wheel.

Does this wheel, and the other new wheels out there, build more boost with the same drive pressure, or does it allow more drive pressure to be built? 32psi on a stock turbo sounds like 64psi of EBP driving the turbo with a stock wheel. Is that what you guys are seeing with the new wheel?

I'm curious to know how the boost comes on with your van turbo. Mine builds boost very slow until 8 or so psi then flys up to 28psi in no time. 0-8 psi in roughly 2 seconds then 8-28 in 1 second. I feel like I have to mash the pedal to get it to spool for normal driving.

The original reports from Riffraff showed closer to 1:1.

I will get a gooseneck behind it in the next week. What intake are you running? I have a S&B on mine and the WW was hard to hear unless it was around 15psi.

No more pedal mashing around town for me. It took a lot of lag out on the lower end.

It will probably be a lot quieter on yours I have the AFE II. However it is a lot louder than my WW while towing IN OD over 8psi. I cannot hear it when not in OD.

Is it better the the WW on a stock turbo and will I see better spooling when towing and better MPG?

I can't imagine a wheel would bump or change mileage much at all. If you buy it for mileage good luck with that

As I said in an earlier post and in my other thread. I cannot tell enough of a difference over my WW on a stock turbo to justify $200.

I would think that with the stock wheel running 0 boost on the highway would get better mileage than a wheel running 4psi. Boost uses fuel.

Well, IMHO, boost doesn't use fuel, but it takes fuel to create boost. If this wheel is providing more boost with the same amount of fuel, I would say the mileage would increase, but only slightly.

It could. But from what I know of gas engines, they use more fuel when boost is introduced no matter what RPM or load. It is a MAP sensor - ecu - increase fuel to compensate for more air, deal.
