Type A to Dexron Transmission Fluid?

I used up 3 quarts of the 6 quarts I had of my Type A transmission fluid and seeing as Accel Type A fluid is no longer being produced as no one has it for purchase anymore I am back to looking for replacement fluid. I seen a lot of people state Dexron is the replacement for Type A but I also seen many state not to mix the two.

So my question is, has anyone ever seen any problem adding Dexron transmission fluid in place of Type A? I will be draining my transmission to see if a band adjustment will help my falling out of second gear at stops but wont be draining the entire system so there will be some Type A still in the transmission if I refill with Dexron.

I just don't want to wipe out my transmission if I am able to get some more life out of the transmission before a rebuild is needed.
