It was semi pleasant when the breeze would pop up.. We were short handed at work, just glad that the MOD was one who doesn't get upset when things get a bit late.

We had a bit of a breeze here as well.

I guess if you are short handed it should be expected that things may not go as quickly as planned.

One guy came out acting like he needed to be put to work and that I did. Got him and another guy to clean up a mess at the pine needle trailer. The to dump the trash hopper. That helped some since I was blowing down the area.

Gotta keep them busy. That fellow probably thought he should have stayed where he was.

He is and will always help me if he is free and I need it. He works mainly in receiving unloading trucks at night.

It's nice to have a couple guys or girls like that around the place.

That it is. Especially when we get short handed or no handed. There is another loader that helps as well and the same greeting when he sees me.

Always one or the other I guess. Some will stay and help some will hope no one saw them as they head in another direction.

That is for sure. Two of the guys I work with had interviews for a different section. It is almost time to thin the herd.

I remember the last place I worked. They wanted the supervisors to help out with interviews. They would ask our opinion then do something different. They would often hire some kid just out of school and bypass a guy with experience, a little older with a family. It didn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

We got asked about who was good and who wasn't since we work with them. The other guy who was in that meeting is working days now and has some personal problems. Not sure of his status..

I have heard of a few places where new people have some sort of probationary period. It is their fellow employees that determine weather they stay or not.

That is the way it is here pretty much. Since I am pretty much lead on closing they wanted my opinion. Still waiting to see if I get a decent raise this year,
