haha! no i just meant down in Georgia it's not much surprise to see those auto hubs hold up because it's not like you guys get much for snow storms and use 4wd all that often.
obviously you don't off road the truck either, nor the previous owners or those hubs would have been swapped too.so if auto hubs are ok anywhere,it would be places like down south.

i dunno about the auto hubs being stock or not on the hd trucks.i just know they break/strip out easy cus the f150's had those and we all ripped those right out for manual lockers around here.even for those who did have them work for a while, would loose 4wd by backing up and no one liked that either of course.it was the first common mod within a month or two when the 9th gens first came out.im not sure of anyone who kept them.this is why im always floored when someone brings these up.worthless hubs.don't ever go off road without someone around or you'd be stranded.they're not to be trusted.fair warning.

2-3/4" is the CORRECT size socket. If that doesnt fit it, then you have the wrong nuts

Mines got em, and I plan on swapping them out to manuals (Either Warn Premiums or Mile Markers) before the snow flies. Backing up/pulling forward to disengage them sucks, along with waiting for them to engage. I want 4wd NOW!

OP- Do as Brad says, and get those nuts off and replace them with the correct ones. Also make sure the correct washers and lock rings are in there as well (been a while since I've been in mine so I don't remember what's all in there). Alternatively, you can put on manuals and get the conversion kit, which comes with new nuts (I believe)

well we don't get snow but we have that famous GA red clay and its a lot worse than snow and if you keep tryin to go through it the clay will put a suction on the axle main it impossible to free the truck ... snow don't do that lol and that where I live its all swampy and like a jungle
