Anyone with the spec books, can you tell me what optional gear ratios were available for the year? I've located a '61 F-350 parts truck that has a bed and rear end to fit my '56. By '61, higher speeds were desired as interstate highways were being opened. I know the F-1 had a ratio of 3.22 for that year. My '65 F-350 that I had years ago had a good ratio. In the event the ratios aren't satisfactory, I can always go '68-72 as a 3.73 was an option for the F350 those years,,I'll just have different lug pattern wheels on the rear, no biggy.

1956 F-350 (Brutus)
1959 F-100 SWB (haven't named yet)
1973 F-100 LWB (Hoss)

 

1961/62 F350's could have either a Timken model B140 or a Spicer/Dana 70 rear axle.

Timken available with 4.56, 5.14 & 5.83 ratios / Spicer/Dana 70 available with 4.88, 5.13 & 5.87 ratios.

 

those ratios are way too low for any highway driving unless someone goes with a modern drivetrain with AOD which I'm not doing on this truck.
