I had a decent day, FINALLY got BlackBird legal!!! Quack at the V.A. ticked me off. Says I'm NOT handicapped because I CAN walk with the cane. First time in OVER 20 years I've been turned down.

Alan I know this is a little to late of advice, but you know most folks are not as prompt a military orientated folks.....no offense to those that have not served, just saying.

I have seen it a 1000 times, I am always 10 to 15 minuets early to EVERYTHING, I will probably show up early to my own death. lol

Make a phone call before you leave to save you the wasted time. I would figure out to charge that guy for his not showing up, unless he had a family emergency.

Rich. Calling doesn't work. He won't answer the phone and never returns any calls. I'm not sure how he stays in business, but I'm done with him. That engine was the last tie to him and I do NOT plan on taking any jobs from him in the future. Too wishy-washy. A simple job that should have taken at most, a couple weeks, turned in to two months of B.S. I don't need that. I can understand being a few minutes late. Heck even a half hour. .....or an hour. I waited almost an hour and forty minutes. That ridiculous.

His emergency? He went fishing! ....must be nice. I think I need to be a used car dealer. That's the EXACT reason I didn't want to work for the last dealer. Show up when they want, pay when they want, (although those guys were usually pretty good about that) and cut corners that shouldn't be cut.

I was talking to this guy's mechanic while I was there. A customer brought in a '66 Newport with a 383. The car wasn't running right and he figured out the vacuum advance was shot. The owner tells the guy to advance the base timing and send it on it's way! That right there will make me never want to deal with him again.

.....ok, ....rant over.

I worked as a lot porter at a big dealer in republic once. I totally understand what your saying about dealers cutting corners. I remember being told that the most important thing was the tire shine. Lol

Rich thanks for calling tonight, I haven't been much of a friend to anybody lately. Shari and Tim really like it here, but I'd rather be back home in Ozark... I didn't even know that there was damage back home.
Nothing much Ford wise other than we have paid off Shari's 08 Escape this week, The last payment went out monday. We hope to be car payment free for a while. The 01 is the next to be replaced, I've had it 11 years this month, and have put the lase 162K on it. Still runs, and looks nice.
I'm doing great since my Total Hip Replacement surgery I had in April. My lower back dosen't even bother me, I can go most of the day on my feet pain free. I haven't felt that good in 6 years or so.
I'm really wanting to make it to the June G2G, but have to see what funding is like. Paying one vehicle off, and still trying to ge the gold 01 tagged. What a cluster that has been.
Shari and I both need a North Carolina drivers license. I've had mine, she got hers today. Now we wait for the hard copy, has to have her picture on it. Had to have out Registration paperwork from when we bought the truck. That was two day's on the computer and phone with Jefferson City. So hopefully I'll get my tags late next week
Anyway's sorry I haven't been around much. Just with the move, Ka'Bluey, and all of you out of driving distance. I've just kind of clammed up.
Beer frame!

Unk Bob

Good to hear from you, Bob! Doesn't much matter if it's Ford related or not, it's good to hear what everyone out there is up to. Keep in touch.

Yes Bob - don't be a stranger!

Not much going on here. I'm pretty wiped out this evening from only having a couple of hours of sleep last night. Alan, I don't know how you cope with insomnia. I can't imagine doing this on a regular basis. My primary goal for tonight is simple - don't wind up taking anyone to the emergency room.

Take it easy friends!

I'm not former military, but I'd rather be an hour early than 1 minute late.

Bob, glad you're doing good with your new hip.

BTW people, don't do drugs. It just isn't worth it.......

hey all... good to see ya there bob, you know you will always be part of this group...
alan i know about people not showing up when they say.. so many people act as if their time is so valuable and my time is not.. i dont mind anyone being late or even changing plans.. as long as they have the courtesy to let me know.. i have had so many people wanting to look at a car, set up a time, then not show up.. it upsets me so much that i wouldn't sell them the car..or if i did the price would reflect their inconsiderate behavior.....

I'm back from the doctor's office. They want a bone scan now to see what's up. It just ticks me off because that's another $200 out of my pocket to hear, "We can't do anything about that."

I'm gonna go hang some exhaust on the Chevelle to cheer me up.

Brian here you go...

80,000 and has sat for 6 or 8 years covered, complete carb to pan.

Ford 400 Big block with FMX auto transmission out of 1977 LTD

Most you would maybe have to do is swap the oil pan and pick up tube??
