Best Products For My 7.3
Hey guys. Im about to get started upgrading my 7.3L. I started wanting better MPGs but lets be honest... Im looking for some of that TURBO DIESEL POWER!!! Id like a good punch but not so much as to burn up the sensitive E4OD.
I want to know what the best of the best is when it comes to manufacturers of products. Also mention anything to stay away from, even if its free lol. Heres what Im getting started with:
Cold Air Intake
Exhaust
Tuner
That's basically it. I don't have a specific budget right now so pretend cost isn't an issue. Iv done some browsing and found some products I like and are reasonably priced:
K&N Cold Air
aFe 4" Exhaust w/ Muffler (possible deleting...)
Edge Evolution programmer
Whatdya think?

Definitely avoid the k&n and edge. Look into one of the custom tuners for a chip. Get some gauges if you're gonna do a chip.
Exhaust is exhaust in my opinion. A lot of guys like to support the site sponsors. I went cheap and got mine from summit racing. If you want the best get stainless.

Lots of us buy from Riff Raff. He's a good guy and his prices are usually really good.

Riffraff carries our chips. They actually hold 16 tunes(positions 1-16).
The tunes are switched via a digital switcher or a rotary ****. The digital switcher is the more popular choice and is easy to use. You just switch tunes by pressing the up and down buttons. The digital screen on the unit will display the tune position you are in.
I too would recommend getting gauges before or at the same time as getting tunes.

To my knowledge they do not do custom tuning, but only selling custom tuning from DP Tuner. Dp is one of the better tuners out there for these 7.3's.

OP, DP-Tuner is not your only choice.. All these tuners are great for our trucks. Also, I'm surprised it hasn't been said yet.. With your stock injectors, don't look to pick up more than 50-80hp. The injectors just can't put out enough fuel to make more power than that.

As far as making power while keeping the E4OD alive... Your not going to make much power (maybe 300hp?) before the stock E4OD will disagree with it. Look into upgrading that as much as you can. A fully built trans is preferred, but anything you can do helps.. Bigger cooler, torque convertor, valve body, etc. etc. etc.
