steel wheels

Looking for a set of plain 15"steel wheels that will accept 1949 beauty bands and stock center caps. Prefer them 8" to 8' 1/2". all I can find are chromed and that's not what I need. Does nobody make these anymore? I have a set of bands rolled at 3" so I can widen them myself but still need four in good enough shape to widen.

I think Mid-Fifty is carrying a whole new line of new steel wheels with all different variations of bead width for both 15's and 16's, including ones to accomodate the small hubcaps.

There's a lot of places that sell them, but its very likely they all come from one place...

I get them at junkyards, Ford 1/2 tons up to around 1995, for $10 to $15. Many times they only need minor clean up. Bad ones I sandblast. If you really are on a budget just prime and paint them. If you want them to last get them powder coated.

The later wheels like you're talking about will fit, but worn't work with the early, small hubcap. The mounting lugs are different since about 1965. Finding original early style 15" truck wheels isn't an easy task, and they can be a lot more expensive than 10 or 15 bucks when you do.
