5.4 Excusrion

I know a lot of Ex owners do not like the 5.4 in the heavy Excursion.
My question what type of gas mileage are the 5.4
Getting ?
Are the 5.4's even quick or powerful in these heavy trucks?

the 5.4 gets about the same or a TAD better better milage then the V10...its not worth the lack of power.

i have the 5.4 in my expedition(a much lighter truck) and its power is just enough. mileage is only about 1-1.5 mpg better then my V10 excursion.

personally i would skip the 5.4.

If you don't have a heavy foot or pull anything the 5.4 will do the job. My aunt had a 2002 EB 5.4 4x4 it got about 9 avg city loaded with her 6 kids. A 5.4 can get the job done while pulling if you have the 4:30 gears which was an option with the "trailer/tow package".
