EVAP hose routing 351W manual 1989

Hi all. So the PO removed the EVAP system from my truck, just have the hose connected to the canister, that’s it. So first off I can’t find the EVAP purge valve connector, anyone know the harness that connector is on, thought it would be on the stretch with the EGR connector but I couldn’t find it. Also I’m not exactly sure how the hoses are to be routed. I have the tank hookups going to the canister. Then I have another hose from the canister which is split, so one hose goes to the vacuum (post throttle body) and the other split goes into the EVAP purge solenoid and then goes to filtered air (pre throttle body). Please let me know if I have this screwed up. So when the EVAP purge solenoid is opened, I have a vac line bypassing the throttle body from filtered air into the manifold, and when its closed I am vacuuming right out of the fuel tanks?

There is no canister purge valve on a truck of this vintage AFAIK, the rubber lines go from the can to the throttle body.. that's it.

After some research i think some of these trucks have evap valves and some others don't. I get a CEL that i don't have an evap valve installed. I did some more digging and found another plug that wast connected to anything. Its attached in a pic. I also attached the pic of my vac routing diagram. I cant really decode where the lines after the canister go. I think one goes to the hookup on the TB, not sure if its vac or pre throttle body but it looks likes its one of the two evap hookups. I hope these pics help clarify things

bump, does anyone know how to decode the vacuum hose routing. I have two leads going to the throttle body for the evap system, not sure if the evap purge valve should be connected to the vacuum side or the pre throttle body side...I have my vac diagram attached to the post above.

Caindog, if its any help your issue is the exact reason I joined this forum and find answers. I just finished taking pictures of the exact some plug you showed in the first pic...my guess is the same as yours. The plug was capped off when I found it. Not sure on the hoses though...when I got my truck a couple weeks (same model as yours) ago most of the hoses to the evap can were rotted out, but I did notice a y-junction near the TB with hoses leading to the two nipples on the top of the TB....like you said tho, not absolutely sure on hose placement.

The diagram says it all, the dashed lines are what you need to follow. From the carbon can one line goes straight to the TB while the other line goes through the canister purge valve(CPRV).

Conanski, what do you think of the plug that Caindog and I both found? I've scoured everywhere looking for any unused plug for the purge control valve and the picture he shows is the only thing I have found. It is located near the distributor cap coming out of a pig tail of wires that attach to the distributor cap.
