haha, it's Jmallash. once I get settled in the new shop we'll get cracking on a new system for the 5.0 that has that great V8 sound when you're on the throttle and is quiet when cruising on the freeway. I already have a 3" mandrel bent tailpipe being made up right now but may make the system so that you can reuse your stock tailpipe like I do with my Tundra bolt on system.

I have a 2011 F-150 with a 3.7v-6 will catback exhaust give it a throaty plush sound? Or will it still sound like a V-6.

I would appreciate it if you could PM myself as well once you get the prototype figured out. Very interesting thread.

I recently put an American thunder series cat back on my truck from Flowmaster. The drone isn't to bad on the highway and mostly unnoticeable at faster in town speeds though my truck is a single cab which may put the muffler more under the bed to muffle the cabin noise a little more. But the force 2 also has a good sound and would probably have a lot less drone in cabin but will not be quite as loud or throaty.

I personally want to get a Borla exhaust system for my truck. But @ a grand+ it'll wait.

I have the MBRP SISO 3'' stainless steel system with resonator on my '13 F150. It gives a throaty sound; being a little loud in the cab at cruising speed & towing. I drove my truck a few hundred miles without my tunes, while getting prepared for emissions/state inspection, and could still see an increase in performance over stock. With my 5 Star tunes, it performs even better.

I know this is an older thread, but I have a FLowmaster series 70, with 4" tips, and really..like the sound. It has a nice low growl, and you don't have to scream at the person setting next to you to have a conversation.

Does my 5.0 FX4 have a different system than other trucks? It sounds great with my foot into it letting the engine go full throttle, and it's quiet on the freeway when I'm cruising. Is that something that is part of the FX4 package?

No, you have the same system as on a 5.0 with any trim level, as long as it's stock.

Series 70 Flowmaster

Here's my Flowmaster Series 70 that I had on my 2011. After it was totaled out, I put the same muffler on my 2013, and added different tips, that did change the tone and volume just a little bit.
Now it's a little louder, and a deeper tone.

Quick Reply: What's a good catback exhaust system for the 5.0 f150?
