These engines don't really require a tune-up like older conventional engines. The factory plugs are good for about 100K miles and wires should last 50-60K miles. The fuel filter is under the driver side along the frame rail. It should be replaced and only costs around $10. As far as mods, do whatever your budget allows. I've chipped mine, added PIAA fogs, bigger tires, K&N, & amp/speakers. I'd love to do more, but just can't quite justify spending a couple thousand more on a truck I'll only have for a couple more years. Look for a spare key on ebay. No factory 18" rims. These boats only came with 16's and 17's.
Good Luck.

bamxlt,the factory 17's are decent,but beware, you want 97 to 99 or early 2000 wheels which have 12 mm wheel studs,late 2000 - 2002 have 14 mm wheel studs,2003 Expys have 6 bolt wheels.
Along with your fuel filter you may want to change all your fluids, both axles, flush the brake fluid out, radiator, change the trans fluid and filter and transfer case fluid Mercon V is good for the trans, synthetics for the rest of the drive train. If you have a posi rear end don't forget friction modifier.
