Dang I totally forgot about our latest "camp". My brother in Detroit died in Feb (sucked; we were very close, for living 400 mi. apart). End of Feb., usually it's warming up a little. Not this year. Got down to -14F the night before the memorial. We stayed at Brighton Rec Area off I-96. Only campers in the place, obviously.
Slept in the cab (yeah, TWO adults sleeping in a regular cab!); ran a Mr. Heater Little Buddy for a few minutes in the middle of the night. Lowest temp in the cab was about 20F. Surprisingly they keep the hot showers commissioned all winter.
Fortunately we met up with one of Linus's old girlfriends (he had a LOT of old girlfriends), who lived a ways out of town and had a spare room, so we had a warmer place to stay the next night.
Oh yeah, and I THINK we saw Clay from RiffRaff on that trip, diesel station off I-94 in SW MI; '99-ish white PSD with "RIFF RAFF DIESEL" in huge letters on the side. They were pulling out just as we were pulling in, so I didn't get a chance to say "Hey".
