Heated fuel pick-up

Heated fuel pick-up
Are they worth it? I am having a real hard time paying over $200 for a heated fuel pick-up. Just wondering if anyone else is running one. did you buy one or make it? I know I should prolly just stop being cheap and buy one. The cost will be recouped within 75 gallons of fuel....but I just can't do it.

Definitely worth it, but also, not that hard to do DIY substitutes. Frankly, i'm partial to installing a simple, solid hotfox or WVO Designs Hotstick, rather than risk making a homemade tube-in-tank hose, that is prone to metal fatigue or other cracking issues. If you have a DIY in-tank fuel pickup that cracked, then it could seep coolant into the veg tank. That'd be a pain to clean out, and think of the damage to your injectors/IP/etc.
they aren't that expensive. I vote for buying a hotfox or WVO Designs Hotstick. I have a horizontallymounted hotfox on my jetta veg tank, and a horizontally mounted hotstick on my IDI, both work great.
