hey king did the metal sleeve fit into the frame mount correctly? on my cousins chevy truck it had written in the instructions that you might need to enlarge the holes with a file. We used a air die grinder to speed up the install.....

Daystar did not give a Torque Spec, only said to run em down until steel sleeves come together. I decided to Torque to 80 ft lbs cause i know i read that # some where

1999-2002 torque spec is 60 ft-lbs per service manual
i installed a set in my 1978 F150 and the ride after was BEAUTIFUL. Just helped my cousin install a set in his 2001 short bed chevy street truck and that too rides ssoo much nicer than it did with stock rubber mounts
I think what you mean to say is that it feels so much better than it did with shot or missing rubber mounts. It's extremely unusual that it would feel better than it did when the truck was new.
Let me know how the ride is with the DayStar kit. I may add these to my list of things to do when I pull the cab to install head studs this winter.
Also how may miles on your truck?
Sarge
Ride's just fine, didn't notice a difference other than it seems a bit more "firmly attached" (no cab wobble over the train tracks, etc) & that occasional "pop" sound is gone
*117,780 miles
i will say this my dads 2000 and my 2004 mounts still look brand new. BUT my 2009 E350 work van i noticed today changing the oil that the rubber mounts are starting to crack and get some big splits in them. All with only 32k on her.........
Yeah i dont get it, ive never had to change body mounts before & these were crumbling apart already on a 2006 w/117k

Anybody have a Service Manual that covers 2006
Hopefully 80 ft lbs isn't too much (swear i read 80 somewhere)
when ford upgraded the front cab bolts they went to 80ftlbs. my 2004 has the bigger front bolts and they are torqued to 80ftlbs. I believe the head was 24mm or 26mm i think, where my dads 2000 were only 18mm or 19mm and lower torque setting

i meant beautiful, my 77 had factory mounts still but they were still together. my cousin Chevy were crumbling but still there. After the install both trucks rode ssoo much better. And poly isn't like a brick hard, get a brand new rubber mount and a brand new poly and you cant squeeze either with your hand. maybe if you put them in a press and smashed the crap out of it and had a pressure gauge hooked up to tell the difference maybe you'd see the difference........
