Thanks Doc. Your advice is appreciated. I'm still learning about these trucks. Can I put radials on the 16s?
I have radials on my rims, but I don't like to advocate that for others. A lot of us run tubeless radials. I haven't had any problems in almost 3 years now....knock on wood. But it's a choice you need to make for yourself.
Yes I know. I think you're right. I don't think they post trim colors. But you can probably guess at that one, or take it to a paint distributor, and have them computer match it.
I got a Sungate Ivory paint chip from some place in CT years ago when I painted my truck. So if I ever repaint I got that to use. It would be good to have a paint code though.

I too have radials on my original rims since 1999. I have had no problems, other than difficulty steering. Last year for inspection the garage told me I needed one set of new tires. I was tired of the hard steering when parking or or backing slowly so I got a set of bias plies and put them on the front and put he radials on the back. Soon, maybe this summer or next I will get another pair of bias tires for the rear.
So, I have a question for you guys. What I want is the original look. Are there other 16" steel wheels I can use that I can put the original looking hub caps?
You can buy brand new 16" wheels with inner nubs from Wheel Vintiques and some other vendors. The advantage to that is (I believe) they have the safety bead and are fully rated for tubeless radials. You can also get them wider than stock so you can use fatter tires.

Very good info to know! I just checked out their website and the new listings. They have widths of 4 1/2, 6,7,8, and even 10" with the innie ***** for the original hubcaps. Available in both 15" and 16" rims. Thanks guys!

Your truck just cries out for 20's, Doc! (w/spinners, of course)
