May be something to check next time your under your truck

So today I started putting my 4 inch exhoust on and something about the ( not sure what to call it) twin I beam stuff looked odd. Couldn't put my finger on what or why my eyes drew to this, but I'm glad I caught it when I did.

Everything looks great and all right? WRONG!

Then I looked even closer-

Now the only reason this was brought into our shop was due to the new exhoust going on. I've had this for about two weeks, drove it 500 miles home ( Oklahoma to Illinois ) no pops, pings, pulling, or any indication whatsoever that there was any problem anywhere.

Ohhhh, that could hurt. Looks like someone left the nuts off? Or had them loose and forgot to tighten them and they fell off?

Part of a lift kit? Or stock?

Maybe this shows how strong and durable our trucks are. They can safely function with 2/3 of the bolts removed

FTFY: I wouldn't call it safe, but it must have worked.

Ouch, that could of turned into a nasty ending to that truck! or someone else for that matter! Good thing you caught it!

Glad you posted this to, make others aware, looking over your truck once in a while is a good idea.

This makes my think of back when I bought my van, I was rolling on my creeper all over underneath of it looking things over, and noticed my drivers side motor mount, was missing a nut or 2. Tread looked perfect, no signs of damage, wear or nothing, actually looked like it never had one on there period!

I bought my F250 4x4 in April of last year, When I went to install new ball Joints and bushings in the front end I noticed the same thing on mine, only I still had all of the nuts on it, they were just all very loose

It's fixed now, trust me it's a real pain to get those bolts in,long hit the oil pan short would reach. 7/16x1 1/4 is what I used, it's a 1/2 inch hole but you can't get the bolt in and the 1 1/2 long you can't either. I used a 2x6 under the beam and lowered it down and that seamed to push it back up enough to get it.... 2 hour job to get the one in and nut on the other side.
