Changing the sensors because of a multi-sensor code, well, I wouldn't. They can't all go bad at the same time.

How many of them were giving the code ?

Maybe I try the 5-star when I start pulling more and especially when I start going out of Florida.....
I was actually happy with the mileage. The 37 Toyo's are heavy tires. My speedometer has been corrected with the SCT tuner from Mike. Like it or not, these beast's are thirsty especially with bigger tires.

Krewat...Mechanic says both were and he agrees with you and doesn't think it's the sensors. I'm hoping the reflash takes care of the problem. By the way I have about 17000 miles or 3 months left on the 5 year/80000 mile warranty left on the truck. How we go foward will depend on the flash working or the codes resurfacing again.

Reflash of ECM on 08 3V V10 June 2013

Finally took my truck to the Ford Dealership as suggested by Krewat to diagnosis (sic) the exhaust sensor problems I have since buying truck earlier this year.. As suspected by my mechanic it wasn't the sensors, but according to the Ford mechanic it was a combination of the cold air aftermarket filter being over oiled effecting the MAF, causing the cat sensors to default the ECM to a base reading.. The other contributor is there were several factory ECM updates not installed that compounded the issue.. I have to say the truck shifts smoother and the engine seems to be more free running with the rpms.. I guess time will only tell!!! Best part of the trip to the dealer is no cost involved

Good deal! What dealer did you wind up taking it to? One of the big things that I have seen preached about on here is to make sure that you don't over oil an aftermarket filter and to make sure your MAF is clean.

Mudfuel06.......... Ford dealership in Okeechobee changed owners, I know one of the individuals that was hired who is a long time friend.. Been advised that these engines are very sensitive to the aftermarket products and doesn't tolerate them very much while it is in the factory settings.. Using the same element but without oil. Anyway no charge, engine seems to be run effortlessly, tranny shifts smoother and I'm not even mentioning the CEL.. Time will tell!!!

Good luck! I've been thru Okeechobee quite a few times when I was living in Arcadia going to the east coast. I don't ever remember seeing the Ford dealer there. I probably need to take mine in to see if there is an update, but then I have to get get my tunes updated for the new strategy.

ECM Updates

If you are in doubt it will be well worth the $75 - $100 price to get things right. It appears as time went by the factory found a few things that needed improvement or changed.. I can only tell u it made a vast difference in the way mine drove.. Ford dealer is located on the south side on 441 towards the Lake.. Keep in touch

Anyone had this problem??

MissA couple of days ago while leaving work I encountered one of Florida's common late afternoon thunderstorms. Approaching this storm it was evident it was a downdraft event having 50-60 mph outbound winds and a wall of rain that you couldn't see 50 foot into. The Super Duty handled everything in stride but within 100 feet of entering the "wall of water" I noticed the CEL came on(imagine that). No noticeable change in the engine performance and I decided to continue home but made a point to check the CAI upon arrival. Did find moisture inside the housing but filter felt dry, it probably should of been after driving 30 plus miles without anymore rain. I have come to the conclusion that this "open box" cold air intake will not properly protect the MAF from the elements and contemplating on going back to the OEM air box. FYI the CAI in question is an Air Raid and isn't fully enclosed as other units (Volant, corrected). Maybe looking for an OEM box in the future. Any suggestions????
