Exclamation Max boost on a stock turbo?

Hey guys, got a quick question. What is the safe max amount of boost you can run on a stock turbo? i have a 6637 intake, 4" turbo back exhaust, boost fooler, and Beans tunes. In the hot tune I hit 30 psi of boost, is that to much for the stock turbo?

I'm pretty much a stock turbo and it is nothing to see 33-35psi when my foot is in it. The gauge only goes to 35 so I let out when I see the needle travel to the other side, until my head studs go in....

I personally wouldn't push over 35 without headstuds holding everything in place. Asking for trouble IMOP.

I need to find one of the old posts I have saved. With the stock turbo IIRC anything over 25 psi can lead to trouble down the road. The thrust bearing and the higher drive pressure.

well Im not going over 25 psi every single day, think it will last awhile if its just the occasional playing around and racing and only hitting 30 psi every once in awhile? btw what is IIRC?

Where did you get such info? I never really knew where the line was. I slammed 36psi last night and I've never been over 32psi..

I will be honest.. i freaked out a little. I got paranoid about smelling anti freeze.. haha

Guess my new wheel makes too much powa!!!

IIRC it took ziggy 48 or 50psi w/ his H2E to pop his headgasket..

If I Remember Correctly

After my DP tuner let me go past 30psi on the 80e tune I called Jody to ask...10 min later I got a return phone call from him, saying 30 was fine. No additional tuning needed. No worries unless I'm running high egt.

With that much psi it's just creating heat. Your IC will be required to actually work.
I'd check shaft play in turbo because if its on its way out, 30+ psi will finish it off. But if its good, have fun, and check it every oilchange.

Just remember reading somewhere and hearing somewhere that 40 psi is the magic number for serious consideration of installing headstuds. Actually the ones going in mine are out of one of ziggy's engine.

I would rather spend the extra money on studs then have to worry which hard hit to the throttle is going to be the one to pop the heads.
