spark plugs...

97 4.6. how hard is it to change the plugs? Any special tools needed?

On the way to work this morning the truck kicked the check engine light which i intend to stop by somewhere an get the codes pulled. but lately i noticed it starting to miss. this may not be the reason for the code but i want to change the plugs and wires anyways because it needs that aswell.

Ill look around, was trying to search from my phone at work but it didnt work out well with me coming and going with service...

any certain plugs these engine's like/dont like??

Threw a code P0303 i believe it was, misfire cylinder 3, figure ill throw a set of plug's and wires at it since it dont have individual coil pack's i figure that the distributor/coil pack what ever it is called on these engine's is fine.

I have always just used Motocraft PP in all my 4.6 motors...even all the Mustangs I have owned. Never any problem....100,000 miles and then change. I always use that copper colored anti-seize on them and they come out nice and smooth. IIRC on my 98 I unbolt the power steering resovoir and kind of push it to the side for 5 and 6. #4 is kinda of a hassle, I take that plastic thing off over the electronics and then bungy cord the heater wires kind of out of the way. I also unplug some of the injector connectors just to make it easier....just don't let those little insulator things fall out of the connector. It's not bad at all....IIRC a 5" and 3" extension with a 5/8ths socket and a 3/8ths ratchet....I think got all of them. I think the wires can be more of a hassle than the plugs sometimes.
