I have installed a 95 T bird IRS under my 55 but have not driven it yet. You can find the install on my build thread.

I have cycled the gear and fully expect the ride to be great.

Got one and like it very much. Lot of work but worth it. 1995 T-bird LS rear end in 1948 F1

mytbtruck, is yours a driver? Did you drive it with leafs previously? Whats up with those mufflers, they appear to be different.

I drive it anywhere any time I want. Been on several 600 mile trips ,several 200 mile trips and most Sundays when the weather is nice my wife and I drive it to town and have lunch. Those mufflers and the complete exhaust system came from the same T-bird, Also engine transmission and front suspension. Drives very good at 80 or more on the Interstate, lots of fun and also gets about 22 mpg. I cant' say too much about the leaf springs because it was originally an F3 and we all know those suspensions are very stiff. I did drive it before but there is no comparison.

Neat truck. Are the mufflers different from each other, or is that just an illusion. Bet it is quiet.

They are the same except there is a right and left. You can hardly hear it running. I like quiet especially on a long trip. Maybe this picture gives a better view.<a href="http://s247.photobucket.com/user/Larry48fi/media/cab061_zpsb127e195.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg131/Larry48fi/cab061_zpsb127e195.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo cab061_zpsb127e195.jpg"/></a>
