Coming armed with some questions
So winter is finally going away up here in Northern Canada and its time for me to address a small list of things I made over the course of the winter to fix.
First off is the saging front leafsprings and rusty old shocks. I would like to level out the front and back, is there a company that still offers a levelling kit? or can I piece together something OEM (I think I remember something about V code superduty springs) with aftermarket shocks (if this is the case does anyone have any suggestions what shocks?).
Second I have to do my brake pads, they have now just started to squeal and grab (gonna do the zero fade brake booster aswell) , I had the truck looked over last year march when I bought it and was told I would have to replace em within a year. Is there any offering of pads out there better then OEM?
Lastly is my tranmission, my 2nd gear is pretty gross, have to shift before 1500 from 1st and have to drop almost to idle to downshift from 3rd. Reverse also has a nasty habit of kicking out of gear aswell. Am I better off to rebuild or just source a junkyard ZF-5 (I want to put a aftermarket clutch one regardless as I will be adding power next) or is there another transmission option I could go with? (preferably manual)
thanks in advance for any help or opinions
