Used Car Lot Observation
Around my neck of the woods, used car lots are generally dirt or gravel, and often simply on the side of the road or next to someones house.
A new one popped up about 5 months ago on my route to work and they started off with an 89 F250, an 90's Buick or Olds sedan, and two Chevy trucks (late 80's to mid 90's 1/2 and 3/4 ton). All trucks are 4x4.
I was initially intrigued with the F250, even though it looked like it had a bad primer paint job, but not for the truck, but rather the headache rack. The guy wasn't interested in selling just the headache rack, though. He was, I thought, asking crazy money for the truck.
Within the first month, he sold that F250 and the sedan, and got another Chevy truck and another GM sedan.
Now, 4+ months later, he has the exact same 4 vehicles. Not a single Chevy truck has sold, nor the sedan. I get a kick out of that everyday when I drive by...
I guess that Chevy ad line about being the longest lasting trucks must be true, nobody actually uses their Chevy trucks!
(Full disclosure, I actually had a 3/4 ton K20, and it got worked....)
