distance from front frame horn to axle centerline

I know its supposed to be 19 3/4 in from front shackle big hole, to heidts crossmember centerline, (http://www.heidts.com/Content/Instructions/in-092.pdf), but the PO filled the shackle holes in and por-15'ed them. Does anyone know the measurement from front of frame to aftermarket crossmember centerline? I know it's 1 3/4 inches or so a little further forward from stock....

thx

Jason,

my front frame horns are gone and the complete front clip has been rebuilt so I'm no help in the front... tell me another dimension you could use BEHIND the ifs...say to the cab mount rivet or something and I'll tell you what I've got..

I'm running Heidt's also

are your rear spring shackle mounts still on the frame ?? if so, go to my page and look at the f-100 spec page.. it shows the distance from rear shackle to front shackle... mark that then measure back

Are the holes for the stock axle bumpers intact? If so, they are centered above the stock location.

The front of the frame horn isn't perfectly squared off, so I measured at the bottom.
1953 F-100 (1953-1956 should be the same)
Front of frame to centerline of shackle pin: 17"
Front of frame to centerline of original front axle: 37 5/8"
