88 F150 with a 302 - trouble with the auto fuel shut-off system

Hello,

I have a 1988 F150 that I am having trouble with the auto fuel shut-off system.

The function that shuts of the fuel pump in the event of an crash or whenever the engine has stopped whilst the ignition is still on, is giving me trouble. The poor thing thinks it has stopped and shuts off power to the pump.

Can anyone tell me whether the system is sensing that the engine is running through an electronic sensor, or whether it senses loss of vacuum?

Also where di I find and how do would you test the sensor.

Thank you,

- Bob

I read about people having trouble with that especially in bronco 2's & rangers. I think they all use the same device.. from what i've read, there's a switch under the dash that has weights and stuff in it, and they go bad.
