54 f100 hood issues

hello everyone, I am new to this site but not to the hobby. My name is Tony and im from NE Ohio. Hoping someone might be able to help me out. I am hanging sheet metal on my 54 f100 and am having issues with the hood. When the hinges are completely closed the hood is roughly 3" away from the fenders and cowl. What am I doing wrong? I am trying to upload pictures and am having issues figuring out how to do that too.

hood

Getting the hood to close right is almost as easy as finding the meaning of life. Most of the time I have to do the F100 shuffle.Start by closing the front down tight, then move to passenger side back of hood and push down, until it sets on cowl,Now move to driver side and repeat. Now hood should be closed.Thats the best I could make it work after much swearing.
