1947 Ford Pick-up (jaguar ifs)
New to the site!! I have a1947 Ford pickup that I am starting on this year! I have looked at several IFS options, but it will cost an arm and a leg to get it done. I am thinking of doing a jaguar IFS, has anyone attempted this on a 47? I need something cost effective, but I want make sure it is done right! Any suggestions??

Nice, so you are keeping the stock leaf springs? I really want to have an IFS, that will give me disc brakes and better handling. The motor is a 289 bored out to a 302, motor, tranny, and rear end all came out of a 68 Ford Fairlane. I have the truck stripped down and just need some cheaper ideas for an IFS.
A little back story:
My dad bought this truck in 1961, it was sitting in a pasture with a tree going up through the motor. Dad completely rebuilt the truck and had it in pretty good shape and he sold it to my uncle (BIG MISTAKE) in 1987. The uncle left the truck out in the rain and basically let the truck go back to its origional state. One weekend in 1998 I was at my Uncles house and seen the truck sitting out and asked my dad if we could buy it back. Dad lied to me and said it wasn't for sale and then on Christmas he pulled up with the truck. I put the truck in the barn and let it set for another 12 years. Since then dad and i got the motor running, no brakes, no seats, but got to play around with it in the pasture. I now have my own house and the truck is in pieces in the garage. My plan is to get the truck upgraded and back up to par and give it to my dad for Christmas. With limited funds and not alot of time I am not sure that I am going to make it, but I am going to give it hell.

Fitting the Jag front end is a pretty easy swap I have done it a couple of times and is a pretty common swap down here in Australia, I will get some photos and post them up over the weekend. The series 2 and 3 versions have vented discs and 4 piston calipers, as well as power steer and can be fitted as a bolt in option. The only disadvantage is that you get a chev bolt pattern for the wheels.
