I PUT SOME HONDA SEATS IN MY 89
I welded in some 1991 honda civic bucket seats fully adustable and the next mod I'm looking at is taking out my foot emergency brake and putting in a 1990 ford escort E-Brake. Looks like this build might be a drift missile. ** Everyone is talking about "budget drift car"on youtube I'm making a budget truck. I bought a 1989 F150 4.9 FOR 50$$!!! Score. Got the bucket seats for 5$ the ebrake was 5$. 200$ for the mustang front end **

sounds like fun!
as was mentioned above, how well are they mounted? they should be mounted to the existing reinforced holes in the floor, and/or to new holes that are reinforced, at a minimum having a large fender washer under the floorboard with a locknut.
insecure seats are just a bad thing
i too look forward to seeing pics of this.
FWIW, i put seats from a dodge caravan into my ford e350, and i'm happy with my conversion

Missile, maybe....
Just large enough to smack a building really good, or hurt someone or worse.
Have you ever SEEN a full sized truck sliding completely sideways? I have; And been there...The tail whip that occurs is FAST, and will literally walk away from you, before you even know what the heck happened.
Trust me; You want to drift? Get a 240sx, etc...Something closer to the ground.
As the for the Escort E brake? WHY.
Why not pull the regular E brake handle out, and simply put a bend in it, to hold it in place (Vise grips work great also)
I'd MUCH rather have a 2nd brake pedal; Vs. taking a hand off the wheel with the whole truck sliding out of control.
Sorry to be harsh...Just a LOT of redflags going up here, to me.

I'm with sidewinder on the E brake. The only good reason for using a hand brake for drifting is if you have front wheel drive and thus no way to break the rear wheels loose. Trucks with their light rear ends should break loose pretty easily. If not a limited slip will do the trick nicely. That being said, they're not balanced enough to hold any kind of meaningful sideways drift motion; just a lot of happy tail wagging. And, your steering box isn't nearly quick enough to respond, especially with Ford's slushy power unit.

I came out of my FTE slumber for this, so bear with me, I will put my .02 out there, and be done.
I hope, first of all, that you can see over the dash with those seats, unless you are as tall as 460/5 (Trey is like 7ft tall)
You're not looking at a drift missile, you're looking at a large heavy object careening around corners, these trucks aren't meant for that, unless you have money, a lot of it, to cure the frame flex, tightened (or mustang swapped) steering and lower/tighter suspension, but if you had this money, you wouldn't have installed Honda Civic seats.
This entire thing, is your decision, but this could end badly, Sidewinder and Matt made their points clear, and I cannot find a reason to disagree with either of them.
And be smart, don't even try the e-brake swap, those levers aren't strong enough to handle the hold the cables demand, Matt has a point, E-brakes for drifting, are for FWD, if a RWD is to drift, they have the power to break loose the tires on their own power, not with an e-brake rip.
Seats with good side bolsters (Look at Corbeau)
Lower the chassis and tighten up the suspension and steering.
Remove the E-Brake button and spring
4.56 Gear ratio and an E303 Cam
Consensus?
Buy a Mustang if you want to drift.

And we aren't here to come down on you here buddy, we're more than willing to help, we just care about you, and your truck, we would hate to see you wreck the truck, or hurt yourself or others....
Remember, these are only words of advice and guidance, you don't have to follow them, we're just stating that this is a bad idea from our standpoint.

Use too, if I was on some real backcountry roads which were privately owned, I would take my 5speed/I6 truck and I got pretty good at force shifting and forcing it into a "controlled" slide. I never let the *** end go to far but a few times and with the right mindset and calmness you can almost always over correct. My Firebird is a whole other ball game, its *** end gets squirrelly with little to no effort and in any gear...

Not saying drifting is a good idea but some people do want to pursue something different then others and if he keeps his drifting to a controlled environment, like a track or private property I see no problem with him hotrodding his truck I. Tha manner but not on public roads...

I wasn't hindering anything other than him letting himself down...And potentially getting hurt..
