I'm not sure what "has" you are referring to, but I'm keeping an old exhaust system that I'll use for break-in and shakedown.

Built an engine run stand. Might see if anyone in town has an engine dyno for break-in and numbers, but as far as I know no one does.

. Look for neighbors with a 'chicken coop' behind their house with dual 4" exhaust stacks... LOL! . I used to have one like that...

Just an update; a few thousand miles in and loving driving this truck, very torquey. Ended up selling the 750 carb and buying a new 600 Holley 4160 vacuum secondary thinking fuel economy would be better. Well it's too small and calibrated too lean. Idle screws have to be backed too far out for a suitable idle and I can't get rid of an off-idle stumble.

At this point I'm either modifying the carb by changing air bleeds, swapping to a more suitable carb or going fuel infected.

Leaning pretty hard toward FiTech TBI fuel injection. I think with the XE cam and higher compression the engine responds quickly and needs more fuel off-idle.

Either I pony up like $1200 for the FiTech or go with possibly a larger quick fuel carb, possibly mechanical secondary. I feel this carb is really holding the engine back.

Yeah, I only recommend 600's for stock 350's and smaller... any 350 or larger performance build I recommend a 650 or larger... the idle circuits, etc. seem to be more compatible... Glad you like the 400 otherwise...

Pulled the trigger on FiTech...will have a build in the '73-'79 forum. Nearly $1500 for the EFI and fuel system, better be worth it!

Hard to pass up on all the advantages of fuel injection at that price. A good carburetor will cost you half that! Keep us posted on how you like it! Which system did you get?
