As the title says - I have 01 escape V6 that I blew the motor in and need to find a replacement. There is 05 engine available at a reasonable price and low millage, I just want to make sure it would fit.

I realize most places say 2000-2004 are the same, but this place also lists 05, to quote: "2000-'05 Taurus/Sable, Escape/Tribute" on the same line.

I'd appreciate any help as I'd like to do it before the year's end if possible.

 

most bone yards have a interchange list they work from that is norammly dead on,you may have to swap some parts from your old one to make it fit. yet externally they are the same.

what i think you will find is the basic long block will be the same,external parts will need to be swaped,how much labor or how hard it will be i don't know. it's some what like trying to put a 1986 350 chevy small block into a 1955 chevy, or putting a late 351 windsor into a 1965 mustang .
