I'm back

Hello all my friends. After a long absence, I am finally getting back on the site. I have missed each and every one of you and following all your activities.

I left off about the time I got my title and plates. The jist of the story is I wound up with a painter from hell. He still has some parts and now I am taking over the paint work. I have been at a standstill while he was messing around, promising and promising to get the job done. He started, but did not finish. So now I am trying to get my parts back. they are off site but we will keep trying and hopefully will not have to resort to legal proceedings.

I remained off the site because I did not want to bring everyone down with my woes. Now however, I actually started painting some parts and can be a little more positive.... I will try to start loading pictures of the paint progress as soon as I can.

In the mean time. try and guess what color I am painting the FIRE TRUCK

Welcome back Jim. Sorry to hear of your troubles I'm sure everything will work out. Same thing happened to me with my Buick. The man had it for 11 months and kept saying he was going to get started on it. I called him one day and said I had a tow truck coming to get it. I just got it and left. Hope it will be as easy for you. Looking forward to seeing of pictures of your progress. I have you down for a copy of the book thanks!!

I built a paint booth

To get ready for painting, I built a quazi paint booth in my shop. I will try to send a pic soon. Tried it out last week end and it worked very well. I was doing some of the silver parts, running boards, back tail piece.

Some devastating news to take

Hi gang,

Well today I have some very troubling news to report. I filed papers with the District Court of Maryland today to try and get parts to my truck back. The story goes like this:
In Feb of 2013, I dropped off parts to the truck( cab, fenders, doors, hood, hose racks, etc. to the painters place where he was painting them. It is a place where he works full time as a painter, sign painter and such. He was doing this on his own. The painter dragged his feet for months at a time and I finally got parts back, very little at a time. Always with the promise of" Ill have it for you this weekend" Same old B.S. I would stop in many times, only to hear the same thing. So last Monday, I presented him with my letter of intent. That if all the stuff was not returned by Sat June 14, 2014, that legal proceedings would commence. Well as you could already guess, no parts. He has been paid and still has my hood, my drivers side door and fender, 4 hose racks, and misc other small stuff. The parts are no longers at his bosses shop. and I am not sure where they are, thought I have some Ideas. Because of the laws the way they are set up, I can't just go and take them, even If I knew where they were.
My worst fear is that he no longer has them. I will not risk arrest for trespass or violence over this S bag. I only pray that karma will inter-vein at some point in his life.

So gang, not having a great day today. Sorry to bring everyone down. Life can be cruel at times.

Sorry to hear that Jim, hopefully the law will work the way it's supposed to and you will get everything back. Good luck.

Still waiting for the Law and my parts

Hi Gang. Went to the court house on June 16, 2014 and filed formal papers against the painter for my parts. In the next month or so, he will be served by the sheriff for a court appearance. At court, a hearing will be held to determine who owns the parts. I do not have any more info on the next step. Will post as this drag of a story unfolds.

Sneak peak at my colors.,

Well after a little guessing, you can finally see what my colors are going to be on the truck,

Here is some of the silver stuff

I had the tail piece modified with a door so that the kids can climb into the bed when completed I have a great welding shop about 10 miles from here. They do great work and he was the one who welded up my intake manifold .
