You'll probably figure out way too soon that you don't have enough time in your retirement to do all the things that you had done while working

Congrats on the retirement, relax and settle into it. My wife ask me what are you going to do today, I say nothing, she says, that is what you did yesterday, I say, I didn't get done

Qoute: that is a cool vintage soccer team pic! Love the long hair! It must be early 70's...

Abe,

Yep, that picture is from '71. We didn't win any championships, but we were pretty good. We got to play the Hurricane (an early Houston pro soccer team) in the Astrodome in a practice game for them.

Good question, Doc. It was replaced. It also was rusted through above the headlight. The drivers sides are usually worse due to getting more road salt in the middle of the road...

Congratulations on your retirement Abe. It's great to see the before and after pictures. Enjoy spending more time on projects you choose to do when and where you choose to do them. After teaching for all those years, you certainly deserve to enjoy retirement.

Garry that is freakin hilarious!!!

Abe very cool photo's and congrats on retirement!
I hope you were a better history teacher than the few I had!

I struggle with mono-tone speakers...then I had an enthusiastic female teacher who made all the difference in the world! And she wasn't even good lookin...

Thanks guys for the nice "Congrats." I really wanted to show you the pics of my truck that my wife used on the retirement party invitations.

Teaching has changed since I started in 1979. I still enjoy working with kids. I believe it keeps you young, but the lack of respect and effort has changed. But those are only the 5%, but they make it tough on you. Of course with my history in old trucks I had the attention of what kids called the "techies" or the guys in the Vo-tech programs. I could relate to them. And being a coach I could relate to the "Jocks".

Jeff, I believe I was a good History teacher. I liked to keep class fun and make history or World Cultures relevant to their world today.

The time really went fast! I feel young until I look in the mirror... as some of you have already said in response to my old and new pics about my hair....

I wasn't implying that you looked older but that your truck looks so much younger
