Talking Installed Homemade FIPK!!

This is for all you speed density pre-97 trucks that want a better intake system than the stock one. Instead of shelling out $200+ on K&N's FIPK I just bought the filter that goes with the kit, used my stock hoses and 3" piping to go into the filter. By the way it sounds and the increase in performance I got, it outflows the stock system by quite a bit. Exhaust system sounds a bit deeper too. Overall I'm very pleased with it. Power in low-end is increased a lil' bit and midrange increase in power is very noticable. I purchased the filter from Summit Racing. Part# KNN-RF-1012.

Installed Homemade FIPK!!

Thats pretty cool. Kinda peeved knowin that I already bought the FIPK, though. Im installin tonight, and I just happen to see your post. Weird. Kinda curious though, what are you using to hold the filter up? and How come the original intake hose is still there? Just curious. I like your idea though. Wish I had thought of it... Doh!
