1990 F250 4x4 7.5L 5speed Manual Oil Pan Gasket

Hello I just got my first Ford truck and spotted a leak under the Engine Oil Pan. It is coming from the half moon location. I would like to get some help on how to change the gasket. I''m assuming thats what I need to change, correct me if I'm wrong.

My truck - 1990 F250 7.5l 4x4 XLT 5 Speed Manual

First of all what do I need as i saw some diagrams that show more then one gasket (is it just different options).

2nd do I get the OEM gasket or e-bay after market just as good?

3rd to get the job done right the first time do I need to lift the engine block. And to lift the engine block will a jack do?

If someone can provide some what detailed instructions on how to do this I would be really great full.

Thank you,

Mike

It is most likely the rear main. It is a 2 piece seal and the pan has to come out to do it. I have done it in the truck by jacking the engine, do yourself a favor and just pull the engine

I don't have the crane to pull the whole engine out. Is it going to be a lot harder just to jack it up?

Thanks,

Mike

I just called my father in law and he said I can use his crane.

I guess I will be pulling the engine out after all.

Where should I get all the parts? Is fordparts.com the way to go?

Thanks,

Mike

Thank you so much for the info.

Since I'll be pulling the engine out is there any other service I should perform.

The truck has 160k on it.

I would check the rod/mains and change the oil pump
