Question about F-350 bed?
I've been looking online for an F-350 single cab, damn near everyone I find has a flat bed or service bed on it,it's as simple as taking that bed off and bolting another one on right? How much should a dent free bed run for? This would be a 92-97 model.
I will be doing a camo wrap on the truck when I get it,so I don't care if it's scratched up and looks like crap,as long as it doesn't have dents.
Another question, does anyone have a link to a good stainless steel/chrome roll bar? I want to put a roll bar in the bed and mount some lights on it.

How simple switching the beds out depends on the truck, a chassis cab F350 has different width between the frame rails compared to a regular F350. But other than that it should be a fairly simple job, just bolt on and connect the wiring.
Prices also vary wildly by location, enviroment & condition but in my parts, a rougher condition low rust bed is about 3-4 hundred while a clean rust free would be double that give or take. And sometimes you can buy a whole truck cheaper than you can buy just the parts you want. Then you just take what you want and scrap/part the rest to recoup your costs.

I paid $600 for a used bed with the tailgate for a 2005 model year. I have found that Equipment companies that specialize in selling and putting utility beds and flat beds on trucks, often have used beds in stock. They acquire them because there costumers dont have a means to store or want he old bed after buying/modifying there truck.

Hmmm... I live in California and I feel like I see 80s and 90s F-350 single cab longbeds all over the place. Just keep looking and I'm sure you'll find one. Finding one without a dented up bed may be harder though. Most people that buy those trucks buy them for work trucks to beat up.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the bed itself is identical for F150, 250, and 350. It's just the springs and axle that are different. So if you find any bed from a ford F-series from 87-96 (97 if it's a 250-350) it should be the same.

I found a rust free and in excellent condition bed, with gate, bumper, lights, and diamond plate gate protector for $325 to replace my tweaked bed. They are out there.
It took me quite a while to find a regular cab one ton 4x4 with a manual trans. The few regular cab one ton 4x4s I found were either autos, duallys, or in pieces; and I looked at chevy and dodges too. I even passed on a 79 F350 4x4 because it had an auto, and was an extended cab. I think it was a cab and chassis, if I remember the ID tag correctly.
Anyway, you should be able to find one eventually.

1980-1996 (1997 F250/350) beds will all mount to pickup frames from any of the 7th, 8th, or 9th gen F-series trucks. The 80-87 has a different style wheel well arch, side molding, tail-lights, tailgate and latch than the 88-96/97, but they will all still fit a later generation frame.
The only differences between the 8th gen (88-91) and 9th gen (92-96/97) is the trim & molding and slightly different tail-lights.
