53 heater box?

when i bought my 53 it was pretty much all in pieces. just put a new heater core in the plenum and installed it in the truck but it seems that it hangs very low and sticks out farther than i think it should. it fit in the holes and i have it hooked up but i was looking for some pics of heater boxes and all the ones i see are diffirent than mine im trying to figure out how to post a pic of it so maybe some one could tell me if its the right one. does anyone have a pic of their box with it in the truck? thanks for any help.

Welcome to FTE!

The pictures have to be somewhere on the Internet first. I use Photobucket. Here's one way to post pics.

Go to Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

I am just guessing but it looks to be a later model heater to me. Others will chime with better info.

I'll try an get you something more head on from your perspective, but this is the best I could offer from my work PC attached below. I have to agree it looks like a late model box, Mine has a vent door that is at the far right facing the passenger seat which is cable actuated.

Had this in my photobucket from when I initially began pulling the interior - can see some of the right side to the box a little better:
