1968 F600 2 spd axle question
I have a 68 F600 330 HD, 5 spd trans and axle code F which I interpret as 7,000 lb front axle, 15,000 rear axle, Eaton 13802 2 spd. The axle housing is stamped 633 which I believe is the gear ratio. It also has E23D and 9276 stamped on it. One of the studs that holds the axle shaft to the hub broke and of course also lost the tapered dowel that fits into the axle flange bolt hole. Anyone out there have experience removing a broken stud from the hub?. Looks to be a 7/16 in. How hard are these things? Do I need to go back to Ford for the studs and tapered dowels or will someone else have them? Thanks to any and all who can help.

F8D: F8 = Eaton model 13802 Two Speed Rear Axle / 6.33/8.81 / 15,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity // D = Ford-Rockwell (Timken) Front Axle with a 7,000 lb. Capacity.
The stud: Parts catalog picture of Eaton 13802 shows a part number (352480-AS), but when it's looked up in the text, it's not for your application. I can't find another number.
Call Green Sales (number below), they have more references than I do, or anyone else, have the largest stock of Ford obsolete parts on the planet.
BB-1142-C (replaced BB-1142-B) .. Adapter-Rear Axle Shaft Stud / 27/64" I.D. x 3/4" O.D. x 13/16" long / Obsolete
EVANS FORD in Carrolton IL has 4 = 800-942-3616.

Thanks for the info Bill. I'll get in touch with Green. I got the broken stud removed and the threads look fine. However three other studs have been replaced at sometime with what looks like pieces of 7/16 USS all thread. Not good! And some of the threads look really bad, like the holes were wobbled out when they drilled out the broken studs. Looks like heli-coil time and four new studs. Do you have a part number for the gasket that goes between the axle flange and the hub? Thanks for all your help.

Thanks Bill: Do you have a part number as well for the oil seal? I haven't pulled the axle shaft yet, but looks like the last guy's solution was slobbering on lots of RTV, so gaskets and seal were probably trashed. Any place on line that shows a blow up diagram of the assembly?
I got an email reply from Green that they have the studs # 352480-AS @ $1.25 ea, but I'm going to call them first to check on application as you had said your references were giving conflicting information. Thanks "Big Help Bill"
