Either CAT ELC or Shell Rotella ELC both are Red and should be purchased undiluted. I.e. Do NOT use 50/50 premix

If you have an XL Parts near you they carry Shell Rotella ELC on the shelf, no need to order it.

IPR High Flow Coolant Filter Ford 6.0

I have a sinister diesel filter...but I hear great things about the above. Downside is its twice as expensive as the other filter kits out there.

And yes, these things are needed for a 155K mile engine. Flying blind with no gauges and running stock things can result in major $$$ when something fails. At the very least a EGR delete is needed, that way even if your oil cooler is plugged you dont run the risk of rupturing the EGR cooler from the steam.

EGR cooler vs Delete? If you live in a state with no inspections a EGR delete is the way to go for sure.

No inspection in L.A.

L.A. of course meaning Lower Alabama

Your golden. You can buy an upgraded EGR cooler, but I would just do an EGR delete and forget about it. Most lifted heads/head gaskets are probably due to this problem.

Looks like I might have looked at something weird before, the oil cooler doesnt seem prohibitively expensive.

I see there is a sinister "basic" kit that has most of what I would want.

You probably saw a oil cooler relocation kit (what IPR sells) or the BPD (bullet proof diesel) cooler kit. Once you do a EGR delete the need to do oil coolers will go down because you dont risk blowing the EGR cooler, but these are really nice (and really expensive!!!) upgrades.
