Extended Warranty, to buy or not to buy

Warranty company question
The comments on warranty's have been very helpful. I have decided to get an extended warranty on my 2011 F250 6.7 CC. I will need the 125K as that will take me into the 7th year of ownership. I am finding that for my situation, I can buy a premium elite plan from Direct Buy Warranty (highly rated on the association's website) for about $700 less than the Ford Premium Care. The Direct Buy plan doesn't require any deductible either! after reading their plan, it seems to cover everything including whatever dealer labor rates apply, factory parts, etc, etc. anyone out there have any Direct Buy Warranty experience???? Both good and bad comments are on the reviews.
Thanks!
Thanks!

As mentioned in a previous post, I spent many years working for a few Chrysler dealers.
There was one and only one extended service plan that was overall the best deal for the customer. And that was the Chrysler sponsored extended warranty.
That warranyt is good at any Chrysler dealer across the country and Canada.
As to every other extended warranty service plan etc?
There are a lot of fly by nights, many with deeply hidden exclusions and most of them are not seamless for the dealer to work with.
At the dealers I worked for it was a standard policy for us that we would fight for the customer, but in the end it was the customers responsibility to pay us and then get reimbursed - or try and get reimbursed. The only exception to this was at one dealer that was large enough to have their own in house warranty. But, that warranty was only as good as the parking lot and even then many customers got the shaft.
You pay your money and take your chance, but overall, the plan that is offered by the factory is most likely your best bet.

I've been doing some research on the subject and here is what I've found. Most dealers will promote the extended warranty that brings them the most profit. Typically they are instructed to price them at a 100% markup. Even the best warranties post the factory warranty will debate components to omit responsibility. I got a quote for $3150 for 7 60 months 125 miles. I'm going to counter with $1700. This will allow them a small percent of profit. If they reject my offer then to heck with it. I'll take my chances. If my truck turns out to be a lemon I'll switch back to gas. I should get 300k miles or more before it brings me problems. I assume somewhere in between someone will come out with a vehicle that excites me as much as my truck.
More to my point. Warranties appear to be more about money management. Why not invest the money I would have spent and use that as a backup reserve for vehicle repairs? Thoughts?

factory warrant is the only way to. to much bs and what not exclusions any other way.
$1700 on an oem warrany iirc is below cost. my wife car was $1300 that was just over dealer cost give or take for 7/125 on a ford flex.
deisel care is more then that.
i would suggest telling them that you will by oem at 10% over cost, ask to see the dealer price guide as well.

I'm pretty sure all you guys are talking about new or newer trucks. However, is it possible to get an ESP on my recently purchased 2009 f250 ps 4x4? I purchased it approx 3 weeks ago as a certified pre-owned. I'm pretty sure that the power train warranty is increased to 7/100k with the certified pre-owned. I'm trying to get more warranty though for piece of mind. Also, is the diesel plan available for a 2009?
Thanks
Dave
